Arrested Development

So the little floating Arrested Development picture to the right...My intention was to add a list of my favorite quotes from the series. Since it seems to be taking forever to compile my very favorites, I would love for anyone else that watches it to contribute. I know there's probably a total of 2 people that even look at my blog, but if you have some good quotes, put them in the comments so I can add them to the list. And that's why you always leave a note.

Football, football, and more football!

So, last fall when we signed Mason up for football (sort of on a whim, incidently), the lady told me that football would become our whole life every fall from here on out. I was thinking, yea sure, lady. We're totally not into football that much. But I seriously had no idea. She was so right. The time commitment is one thing, but I was not expecting the emotional investment. I learned more about football last season when Mason started playing (how could I not after spending 12 hours a week watching their team?) I really just didn't get the concept before last year. I honestly thought it was just a bunch of guys tackling each other, trying to get the football and score a touchdown. I am so amazed now at the teamwork that is involved. And the strategy and the skill. Truly amazing. Our team mom made a little DVD at the end of the season last year and I seriously teared up when we played it. I was shocked by the emotion! I had no idea that I had gotten so invested.
Mason was able to play for the same coach this year, and we are so grateful. I kept warning him before he signed up that this year would not be as great of an experience, so don't expect the same thing. But we are having so much fun, aside from Mason's minor injuries. He is really enjoying playing defense-I think he likes being the tackl-er rather than the tackl-ee. And their team is kicking some serious A. We are playing a really tough team this week, but so far we are 4-0. Wish us luck! Go diggers!!!

Midnight Sun is Over :(

Every page I read I just kept dreading the moment I would get to the end of what she's written. And know that there's a chance that there won't be any more ever. I loved, loved, LOVED it! So so much! Possibly more than Twilight? I'll have to give it another read to be sure. It's like a whole different story from his point of view. I really liked Breaking Dawn but it just didn't have that same magical feel as the other books, especially Twilight. Midnight Sun has totally brought back the magic for me. And hearing everything from Edward's head was amazing. So many things explained and he is just plain hilarious. I love his little comments he says to himself when he's trying to be casual and light. And I love how passionate he is about things. And he's so cute while he's trying to figure out if Bella likes him. (I do realize I'm speaking of him as if he were a real person. I know he doesn't exist. Really. I do.)

And, anyone who knows me knows that I'm one of Jacob's hugest supporters (in that I am very sympathetic towards him-not that he should be with Bella) but it is so nice to go back to the beginning. Before it was all complicated into this demented triangle. Before Edward left. Before she had to choose. It was a happier time.

I feel confident that she'll finish it someday. I know that she needs a break and she's not ready to do it now but you can see how much she loves the character. I think she'll feel obligated to him to finish his thoughts. Too bad she isn't doing the other books. Wouldn't that be awesome?!?

Mesquite

I have had like no time to work on the blog at all. So here's our Mesquite pictures....sorry there's no commentary (like anyone really cares.) Also, I'm noticing that they are in no particular order. But we had fun, it was really nice to get away and just relax for a few days.
