New Moon Movie

I'm pretty sure I've watched the New Moon trailer like 50 times. And I'm pretty sure everyone at work is sick of listening to it. But, seriously, I can't stop. I just finished Twilight again last night (the book) and am now reading the first chapter of New Moon. Yes, again. I don't know what is wrong with me. It is a crazy obsession. And you would think that I would get sick of reading the same thing over and over, but I don't! This past week, I couldn't wait to get the kids in bed so I could get in my p.j.s and read more about Edward and Bella. Seriously. It is so completely pathetic and I can't seem to justify it. The new movie looks so awesome to me!!! Is anyone else as excited? I've never actually gone to a midnight movie before, but I'm considering it for November 20. There must be some sort of therapy for this kind of sickness, or a 12-step withdrawal program or something. I need some help.

p.s. No comments from haters please, I already know how you feel about Twilight. Love you Rachel! :)

My New Favorite Team

I never thought I would say it but....I'm in league with the Houston Rockets. I've hated them for so long but then Monday night came and I flipped on the TV just to check the score and saw them beating the Lakers in LA! It's true, I have a new-found respect for them. So I took a mental step back and tried to figure out why I've hated the Rockets for so long. I think a big part of it is the rivalry with the Jazz. But more than that, it is Tracy McGrady. He epitomizes everything I hate about some sports superstars and how conceited and full of themselves they can be. But he isn't playing now. And hasn't been for some time. And how evil am I for being happy that they finally made it out of the first round WITHOUT him? All these years that's all he's wanted and they do it the year he's injured....hmmmm.....what could that possibly mean? All stats point to the Rockets being a BETTER team with a BETTER record without him playing.

So back to my original thought: Yao? How cool was he during the Olympics? He's a good guy. Shane Battier? Yea, he's a great player. Ron Artest? Not a huge fan, but hey, he's consistent and if he'll get the job done, I can get behind that. Brooks? Apparently he's one of very few people that Derek Fisher can't keep up with. So he is awesome in my book. The Rockets have had a great year and they are most definitely who I will be cheering for during this round. And hopefully through the next round as well!

And by the way, Houston won the game because they played better than LA in game one. They didn't win because Kobe wasn't feeling well. And they didn't win because the Lakers were rusty after not playing for while. And LA didn't beat themselves. I'm so sick of hearing that. It IS possible for somebody to beat Kobe and company because they play a better game. Give other teams some credit.

Game 2 tonight!

Thriving Ivory Update

So the concert was freakin' AWESOME! We had a such a blast. I got there with the kids pretty early and the doors were open so we went in to check it out. The band was out on the floor taking pictures with people and signing autographs and they said we could all stay for the sound check! I thought this was so cool...the kids thought it was neat at first, but they were bored after a few minutes. We went outside to stand in line after and were still able to get good "seats" where Braxton could see. He left the footstool in the car but I think he was still ok. We weren't expecting 3 opening bands and so we all got a little restless when Thriving Ivory didn't even take the stage until 9:40. Imagine an 8 yr. old standing for 4 hours. You get the picture. It was a little sad that by the time they started Braxton was so exhausted he actually laid on the floor for the songs he didn't know. But all the kids said they loved it! And so did Adam and I. I hope they come back again soon!

Sidenote: Parker was there from 101.9. They fired him a few months ago and we saw him there and thought maybe he was with another station. Adam talked to him and he said he STILL doesn't have a job! I used to listen to him everyday on my drive home and I was so bummed when he left. Someone should start a petition or something to get him back. It was cool though to have him there introducing the band. Does anyone else miss Parker?

Thriving Ivory

It's finally here! Tonight we are going to see Thriving Ivory again. And taking the kids this time. Are we crazy? The kids are super excited but I'm a little worried about all the time we will spend waiting around. And also about them being able to see anything. I'm taking a little footstool for Braxton to stand on. I guess we'll see how that goes! Hopefully it will be a fun experience for all of us, I'll let you know tomorrow.

Catching Up

I know, I'm so, so, so behind with my blogging. Have you ever gotten so behind that it is overwhelming to even think about it? There is much too much to try to catch up on...Halloween, Birthdays, Christmas...but here's a few pictures and that will have to do for now. We got so busy in the fall and winter, blogging was the furthest thing from my mind. I will try to be more on top of things in the future.

Halloween:

We went on a hayride and watched a Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin movie. We had yummy donuts and apple cider:

This was a girl's dinner...I think summer? We all have summer clothes on, so probably.

This was a Real game we went to:

Carter's 12th Birthday. They went rock-climbing and swimming at Dimple Dell:

The Wonder That is Megan

My sister-in-law Megan is so freaking amazing, I'm devoting this post to her alone. Megan just got her hair cut and it is super cute! Megan is a delight to talk to and her community service touches so many lives. She is a great example to us all. Her daughter is Sophia, my favorite little Jazz fan. Megan humors Luke and I by allowing her to sport super cute Jazz gear, even though she is not much of a fan herself. Megan is similar to Mary Poppins in that she is Practically Perfect in Every Way. Just being near Megan everyday (across the hall) makes me want to be a better person.
