Cotton Candy

Today we had a fun BBQ with all of our Biesinger cousins. Yummy food, great company, volleyball, and cotton candy. And, of course, it was Ginny's birthday (for those of you who don't know, she is my most favorite cousin.) I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

Seriously, this kid is so hilarious!

Top 10 Reasons Why My 24th Was More Eventful Than Yours

1. Pancake breakfast at my parents house. Much earlier than I wanted to get up on a holiday.

2. Mason wouldn't let me take one stupid picture of him.

3. We went to the car wash and came home to find the power was out. Again. It only goes out like 6 or 7 times each summer. It sucks a lot.

4. Alyssa brought Edison and Cash over while she went shopping. I discovered Cash can easily put his feet all the way up on his chubby cheeks. How old are you when your body doesn't do that anymore?

5. Carter noticed some smoke in the sky and it turned out to be a fire in the gully. We called 911 and Carter, Adam and some neighbors went down to try and keep the fire from spreading by shoveling dirt onto it. The fire fighters came and we watched them put out the flames.

6. Edison notices the trampoline in our neighbors backyard while we are looking at the fire and wants to jump. But he's scared of their dog. So I put him on the tramp and he was happy until the dog jumped up on the tramp. Then he wanted to get down. Then the dog got down and he was scared of the dog so he wanted me to hold him (I'm also holding Cash this whole time). Then he wanted to get back on the tramp. Then the dog jumped up there again, he wanted to get down again, and we started the whole cycle again. This continued for about 15 minutes.

7. The fire trucks stuck around for a while so I took the boys over to check it out. Fireman Tim came over and asked if Edison wanted to see the truck and he panicked big time. I asked him what he was scared of and apparently he thought the fireman would light him on fire. It was too funny.

8. Still no power. So by now we were just roasting so we headed to Wal-mart to enjoy their air conditioning. We picked up a few non-essentional things like Spaceballs on DVD.

9. We came home and still no power. We headed out to see Hancock (which, by the way, was so much different than we thought.) During the movie Adam got an update call from Rocky Mountain Power telling him the power should be back on.

10. We finally came home to an air conditioned house but only to find that our cable was out. So no TV and no internet. Nice.

Super Slide

Saturday afternoon we all went up to Adam's sister's house to BBQ and check out their new backyard toy. The inflatable slide was amazing. Of course my boys had a blast! We brought Edison with us and although he had to work his way up to it, he finally went down the big slide. What a feat! And, unbeknownst to me, it was his first time on a big trampoline. I was wondering why he just stood still for a while and tried to figure out what he was supposed to do. It helped when the other kids got on and started jumping. All the kids got along well, with a few minor exceptions. When have 5 boys under the age of 11 ever got along without problems? Luckily, my niece Kenzie was there to keep them all in line. All in all, a really fun day!

Edison was really only interested in the gun for the first little while.

My kids jumped right in, no hesitations.

Edison discovered there was a slight incline from the tunnell into the water which he called a "slide". This kept him occupied for about 30 minutes.

Still figuring out what to do on this thing. Dallin offers some help.

Now we're gettin' it.

Edison noticed the slightly larger slide that goes into the kiddie pool. This offered about 20 minutes of entertainment for Edison, Taylor & Dallin.

Dallin would just sit at the top of the slide and the Taylor and Edison would "gently" nudge him along.

Finally, finally, at the end of the day, Edison decides to conquer the beast. Carter is eager to help.
Woo-hoo!

p.s. If it seems like I take an absurd amount of pictures of Edison and Cash, it's because they live so far and we hardly ever get to see them. :(

Murray Pool

It seems we are at Murray pool more than usual this summer. In the past, we try to go swimming once a week and I swear we have been there at least twice per week the past month or so. Adam has even been able to come once! Thanks to Aubs and Morgan, Braxton is swimming much better this year and will even go down the slide by himself. The kids like to bring their snorkeling masks so they won't get water up their nose. They love the diving board and goofing around in the water and I love not having to chase them around anymore. Fun for everyone!

Ashley & Dallin

Dallin loves the slide. He can't get enough of it!

Mason did not want his picture taken at all. I tried to bribe him with everything you can think of.

Dallin is also very daring. He jumps whether or not anyone is there to catch him.

We actually did get one picture of Mason.

He likes to slick his hair back and say he has "old man hair"
